Graphic D.I.Y. screen printed patches have been around since the early 80’s. Underground Oi, punk, crust, goth, deathrock, and thrash metal bands made them as affordable promotion materials, like badges, buttons, and pins. Canvas patches have always been the inexpensive alternative to more elaborate embroidered patches, and band patches parallel the graphic attraction of skate art stickers. These patches adorned denim rockers (AKA battle vests, as the new school kids call them), as well as leather and army jackets of punk rockers and head bangers crossing over the musical landscape. Both artists of DAWN 11:11 have toured and played in several bands in the past since the 1980's and 1990's, so the D.I.Y. ethos has been part of their lifestyles for decades.
